Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. Email verification is required to activate an account.
- Content you submit. For example, infrastructure issue reports (which include a location and your description) or organization details.
Information collected automatically
- Locations you look up. When you click the map or search a place, the coordinates or place name are sent to our server and to mapping services to find organizations, boundaries, and representatives for that spot. Approximate coordinates may be cached to speed up repeat lookups. We do not track your device's GPS location — we only use the point you choose.
- Log and technical data. As with most websites, our hosting provider processes standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to operate and secure the Service.

How we use information
- To operate the Service — finding organizations, districts, and officials for a location.
- To create and secure your account and send required account emails.
- To review infrastructure issue reports you submit.
- To maintain, protect, and improve the Service.
Third-party services
To provide the Service, we share limited information (such as the coordinates or place name you look up) with third parties, including:
- U.S. Census Bureau (TIGERweb / Geocoder) — boundaries and districts.
- OpenStreetMap / Nominatim and map tile providers — geocoding and map tiles.
- Open States and 5 Calls — legislator and statewide-official lookups.
- Anthropic (Claude) — automated lookups of county/city government details (we send place names, not your account information).
- Resend — sending account email.
- Railway — hosting and storage.
These providers process data under their own privacy policies.
Data retention
We keep account information for as long as your account is active. Cached location and civic-data lookups are retained to improve performance and are periodically refreshed or expired.
Your choices and rights
- You may request access to or deletion of your account information by contacting us.
- You can manage cookies through your browser (see the Cookie Policy).
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Effective date" above.
